Wedding Photography and Videography

When price is a concern, many people decide to cut photos and videos out of their wedding plans. But we encourage every couple to find a way to have their big day photographed and videographed.
You will love being able to look back and relive the day, especially as the years go by and old friends and family pass away. You can help keep their memories alive, and you can give your own children a chance to see and hear relatives that have long since gone.

Plus, you'll be surprised to see how much you missed the first time around. You may have been too busy to notice Aunt Betty getting busy on the dance floor, but the video guy sure caught it!

As far as cost is concerned, prices can vary wildly so be sure to shop around. Depending on the size of your package, your location and the quality of the album you choose, your photographs could cost anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars.

You can expect the videographer to cost anywhere from around $600 to $1500 dollars. Some will give you extra copies for the parents of the bride and groom. You should also get a copy of your wedding on dvd. This will make it easy for you to make all the copies you need.

When shopping for a wedding photographer and videographer be sure to see samples of their work. And keep in mind that they'll want you to see nothing but their best work. If the samples don't pass muster, imagine the stuff they don't want you to see.

Whenever possible, meet with the actual person who will be working your wedding. You'll be spending most of the day with them so you'll want to be sure you're compatible.

Experienced photographers will make sure they get all of the standard pictures, such as the bride with her parents, the bride with the groomsmen, the groom with his family, and the couple's first kiss. But if there certain pictures you can't live without, we strongly advise you to make a list ahead of time and give it to the photographer.

He's not a mindreader; he won't know that you want a picture with all of your friends from work unless you tell him. And with all the excitement of the big day you're likely to forget a few important pictures if you don't write them down ahead of time.

Finally, if at all possible get copies of your proofs. Some photographers charge extra but its worth it when you figure you'll be able to print out all the pictures you want with a nice printer.
